Which are the most versatile forms of central heating gas boiler
Different types of Gas Central Heating Systems are available in the market. These systems for the most part are made up of a number of central heating radiators, pipework and of course a gas gas boiler.
In most parts of the UK air conditioning is hardly needed because of the average temperatures of those regions. Most of us need a decent heating supply far more; this is why the majority of new homes that are being built in this day and age are built with a Gas Central Heating System.
With wintertime coming up round the corner heating should be at the front of your mind. A heated home has a comfortable and enjoyable feel to it. Your Gas Central Heating System must be fault free as much as possible and efficient to cut bills. Additionally, your central heating system should also be safe, user-friendly and durable.
Sealed and vented or pumped systems are the two major types of Gas Central Heating Systems available.
The vented/pumped one is more common of the two. The pumped/vented Central Heating Systems have an expansion tank and a feed. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the central heating radiators. The expansion tank has enough space to allow for the expanding of water as a result of heating. A pumped/vented heating system requires that the tank be installed at the highest level within the house – such as an attic or loft space, certainly on the top floor. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.
A pumped/vented Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.
A sealed system is now being used in the new houses that are being built. No water tanks are needed for a Sealed system as it is a completely closed setup saving space. There are benefits to have this closed type of system with pipework and tanks being unnecessary.
- There is no risk of pipes freezing in the loft as with older systems.
- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the loft in a pumped/vented system.
- The risk of leaks is decreased.
- Reduced risk of air locks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.
- Can be flushed out under pressure if needed by the mains water supply.
This heating system is self contained incorporating all the safety devices and other important controls. A sealed Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. It feeds directly from the main water supply.
A pressure vessel containing tightly packed gas can allow a sealed system to have normal fluctuations of pressure; a diaphragm serves as a barrier between the gas and water in the sealed system. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
Gas Central Heating Systems are worth the money as they are cheaper to run than any other form of heating. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
