What type of combination condensing boiler ?
I’m going to buy a combination condensing boilers but needs some recommendations as too which one to buy and what size of BTU’s/kw do I need ?. It will be feeding 7 radiators and a shower in a 3 bed semi. I have heard good reports about Valiant boilers but any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I am currently having an extension done on a mid-terraced property that has 4 bedrooms inc loft, 2 bathrooms, 2 receptions. The additional space created will add 35 sq.m out the back. I have only seen or heard of condensing boilers that generate heating hot water, but never steam. Does such a boiler exist and, if so, which company makes it? This is a steam boiler that recovers heat from its exhaust to preheat the entering water. If you don’t know the answer, please don’t ask me why I want to know, just move on. Thanks! Most combi boilers have variable output upto 30kw/100,000btu and will more than cope with your houses need.
I am an installer and for the last few years I have specified and fitted Worcester – Bosch boilers. They are not the cheapest boilers to buy but they are very reliable and come with 2 year warranty. They have an excellent customer service dept, I have only had to call them out twice in the last few years and both times it was next day service and they take faults very seriously. I also like the company as it is still a private company, and ploughs it profits back into its staff and products and not to share holders unlike the other manufacturers.
I have ordered a Vaillant Condensing combi (831) to replace my existing Vaillant (242) combi which is still working like new after 18 years, In that time it’s had a couple of diaphragms, a fan and a heat exchanger replaced. I’m going from 24 to 30 kw to get a bit extra hot water flow rate, but expect to save a bit of gas as well. The new one is costing about £200.00 less than I paid for the original!! Bosch are good, but I wouldn’t go past Vaillant.
NB A common mistake is to call them VALIANT! It’s VAILLANT! (Vay-lant)
