There are many forms of Central Heating boiler
Several types of Gas Central Heating Systems are available in the heating market. Almost all these systems have a central heating boiler at the core, with pipework connecting it to radiators.
In most parts of the United Kingdom air conditioning is hardly needed because of the average temperatures of those regions. Today a good Central Heating system has become a major part of every home, so much so that it is being fitted in all the new houses that are being built.
As autumn fades and chilly winds begin to blow, householders turn to their Gas Central Heating for warmth and comfort. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your house. Your Central Heating System must be fault free as much as possible and efficient to cut bills. You Central Heating System must give you the feeling of confidence that it is safe, simple to use with a long life.
Two kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.
Pumped or vented Gas Central Heating systems are most popularly used. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System includes components known as a feed and expansion tank to allow for the expansion of water as it is heated in the radiators. Hot water from the storage tank supplies your kitchen and bath while also heating up the heating radiators. The tank makes way for any water expansion that is caused by the heating process. The tank is placed in the highest place, normally the loft area. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.
A pumped/vented Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.
A slightly newer central heating boiler is sealed heating system and this is the preferred heating system in newer properties. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. There are no pipework or tanks also in the attic, the system is sealed in the true sense and it has its own advantages.
- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the loft.
- There is no need to maintain the tanks and pipes as there are not present.
- The chance of a leaking water tank is all together missing.
- Reduced risk of air locks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.
- If necessary, the system can be flushed out under pressure using the main water supply.
A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a packaged unit with all the necessary controls and safety devices. The water for a sealed Gas Central Heating System is supplied direct from the main water supply. The mains water goes straight to the sealed system.
Separated from the sealed system by a diaphragm is a pressure vessel, which contains compressed gas; this vessel is responsible for managing variations of pressure in the heating system. The pressure in a sealed Gas Central Heating System is controlled by a valve that lets water out if the pressure becomes too high and opens to refill the system with water if the pressure gets too low.
Central Heating Systems are worth the money as they are cheaper to run than any other form of heating. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
